THE PROBLEM
An industry leading Australian supply chain services company was faced with the challenge of enhancing the accuracy of their billing of packaging material to clients. Previously, the process had been carried out manually—which resulted in human errors, as well as issues around timeliness of information. While a small issue item-wise this was adding up long-term to a negative impact on both the company's profitability, and customer service delivery & satisfaction.

ENTER Adapt Ideations
First, they needed to accurately gauge packaging material consumption. Adapt Ideations' Hub Lite was fitted to packaging machines and trialled for 90 days at one of the company’s most challenging client locations.
The analogue counter readings from the packaging machine were converted and transmitted via Adapt Ideations’ Hub Lite Smart Sensors on a real-time basis to the ADAPT server, and the results presented using ADAPTer (ADAPTs proprietary data analysis software).
The analytics not only provided up-to-the-minute, accurate, readings from the analogue counter, but further revealed the productivity statistics of the machines. When one machine went down, the company’s support team was alerted before the client reported the problem. The solution was seen as greatly beneficial to the supply chain services company, who instantly saw the potential savings in machine down time, combined with real-time data at their fingertips.
